The Richmond Register newspaper in Richmond, Kentucky, recently released its 2023 Readers’ Choice Award winners, and Morning Pointe of Richmond Senior Living, won three honors.

Morning Pointe won Best Senior Living and Best Retirement Community for the second year in a row. And, this year, Licensed Practical Nurse Marie Laws won Best Nurse. Winners were determined by reader votes.

Inspired to pursue nursing after taking care of her sick grandmother, Marie has been a Nurse since 1984. She worked in nursing homes and internal medicine prior to coming to Morning Pointe of Richmond 12 years ago. She has been known to pick up items for residents using her own money, including snacks.

“My residents are why I enjoy being a nurse,” said Marie. “I love them, and I want them to have the best care and life possible.”

Marie is retiring on Dec. 15.

She added, “I feel it is an honor I’m not sure I deserve. I truly love what I do and where I have had the pleasure of doing it. It’s a good note to end my nursing career on. I have been blessed.”

Thank you to Marie and to all our team members! You are truly deserving of these accolades for the work you do and the caring hearts you display!
