The deadline to audition for Morning Pointe Foundation’s 5th Annual Seniors Got Talent show is approaching this Friday, Aug. 2.
The show, presented in partnership with Morning Pointe Senior Living, will take place on Sept. 10 at the Lexington Opera House at 7 p.m. Tryouts are open to all seniors ages 60+ with any kind of performing talent. Online audition videos are being accepted online at morningpointefoundation.com/seniorsgottalent/. The Foundation will choose the best 10 acts to perform on stage at the big show.
The grand-prize winner will receive $1,000, with $500 for second place and $250 for third place. Contestants will be judged on technical ability, stage presence and professionalism, appearance/costume, difficulty of act and originality/creativity. Audience members will vote for the People’s Choice winner at $1 per vote, with proceeds going to the Morning Pointe Foundation.
“If you are 60 or up and have a dream of performing at the Lexington Opera House, don’t let this opportunity pass you by,” said Miranda Perez, Morning Pointe Foundation executive director. “We just completed a fabulous show in Chattanooga and look forward to our Lexington show and giving seniors here in Kentucky a chance to truly shine.”
So far, auditions have included singers, guitarists, a harpist, dancers, comedians and more.
Tickets for the Morning Pointe Foundation Seniors Got Talent show are available now at the Lexington Opera House website or morningpointefoundation.com. They are $10 plus Ticketmaster and other fees.
Proceeds from the show go to the Morning Pointe Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit public service organization, to support nursing and other college scholarships. The Morning Pointe Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Morning Pointe Senior Living founded by senior healthcare entrepreneurs Greg A. Vital and J. Franklin Farrow.
