Charlie and Edna Shannon, a beloved Danville couple, recently celebrated an extraordinary milestone—70 years of marriage—with a heartfelt vow renewal ceremony at Morning Pointe of Danville Assisted Living. Surrounded by friends, family, and fellow residents, the couple reaffirmed their lifelong commitment to one another in a moving tribute to enduring love.
Their journey together spans decades of dedication and service: Charlie served as an Army medic from 1952 to 1954, followed by careers in construction and with the Danville Police Department, where he served for 21 years. Edna devoted 39 years as a payroll clerk for Boyle County Schools. Together, they’ve also remained steadfast members of Calvary Baptist Church in Danville for more than 50 years, building a life grounded in faith, service, and deep community roots.
The Shannons’ story is more than a celebration of marriage—it’s a reminder of the strength and beauty of a lifelong partnership and a testament to love that truly stands the test of time.
