Morning Pointe Senior Living Donates More Than 1,000 Pounds of Food to Support Families in Need

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Nov. 12, 2025) – Morning Pointe Senior Living communities across the Chattanooga area have wrapped up another successful Fall Food Drive in partnership with The Samaritan Center, donating a total of 1,019 pounds of food to support families in need throughout Hamilton County.

To date, the annual drive has collected more than 26,996 pounds of food, helping stock local food pantries and provide emergency relief for families facing hunger.

“The Samaritan Center extends its heartfelt thanks to Morning Pointe Senior Living for their incredible generosity in donating over 1,000 pounds of food during our annual community food drive,” said Amy Ladd Gray, Director of Social Services at The Samaritan Center. “This donation comes at a crucial time, as the recent government shutdown and SNAP program challenges have significantly increased the number of families seeking assistance. During these uncertain times, in one week alone, the Samaritan Center provided 42 emergency food bags to individuals and families in need — a number that is more than four times higher than normal. Thanks to Morning Pointe’s support, our pantry is now better stocked for the upcoming year, allowing us to serve more people who might otherwise go without.”

Morning Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care communities — along with the Morning Pointe Senior Living Corporate Office and Morning Pointe Foundation — have participated in the annual drive for more than a decade, engaging residents, families, associates, and neighbors in the spirit of giving back.

“Our communities are honored to support the Samaritan Center in meeting urgent needs,” said Amanda Yelenick, Vice President of Life Enrichment at Morning Pointe Senior Living. “Every can, every box, every act of generosity counts — and together, we can make sure our neighbors have what they need this season.”
