A Morning Pointe of Hardin Valley Memory Care Success Story

When Sandra Davenport moved to Morning Pointe of Hardin Valley Assisted Living and Memory Care in Knoxville, Tennessee, her life took a hopeful turn. A once-vibrant professional who served as the head of secretaries for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Credit Union Downtown President, Sandra faced the challenges of memory loss in her later years.

After losing her husband and living alone with no children to assist her, Sandra’s situation became unsafe. Her niece, Wendy Branch, stepped in to find a community that could provide the care and support Sandra needed.

Wendy’s search led her to Morning Pointe of Hardin Valley, a newly built assisted living and memory care community just three minutes from her home. “When I went by, I fell in love with Megan, the community relations director, and knew this was to be my aunt’s home,” Wendy shared. “The staff are always there to help and answer any questions.”

Since moving in March 2023, Sandra has found a renewed sense of purpose. At Morning Pointe, she receives proper medical care, takes her medications on time, and enjoys healthy, regular meals. But it’s the meaningful activities that bring Sandra the most joy. She treasures outings on the community van and spends her days playing games, doing art projects, and socializing with fellow residents in the activity room.

“As her illness is changing her, I feel that she is being well cared for by the staff,” Wendy said. “I know she is safe and loved.”

Sandra’s story is a testament to the compassionate care provided at Morning Pointe of Hardin Valley, where every resident is supported in living their best life, no matter the challenges they face.
