Families of aging loved ones have an opportunity this Tuesday, March 25, to have their tough questions answered, during the Morning Pointe Foundation’s Caregiver Café at Morning Pointe of Lexington-East at 150 Shoreside Drive.

About Caregiver Café

“How to Make Tough Decisions for Your Aging Loved One” is a free expert panel discussion, courtesy of the Morning Pointe Foundation. It will run from 6–7:30 p.m. Four local professionals will answer frequently asked questions in areas of elder law, financial planning, veterans’ benefits and recent changes in Kentucky regulations regarding senior care. There will also be a question-and-answer session for attendees.

This year’s panelists are:

  • Mikel D. McKinley, Jr., attorney and owner of Elder Care Law of KY
  • Michael Ayersman, insurance broker with MEA Senior Solutions
  • Mary Ross-Tarkington, M.ED., NCC, national director of client relations with Elder Veterans Legal Aid Group
  • Lisa Biddle-Puffer, vice president of quality and regulatory affairs for Kentucky Center for Assisted Living

“A lot of times, families are not prepared when their aging loved one has a sudden change in condition, so we want to help them have answers to these questions before they arise,” said Miranda Perez, executive director of the Morning Pointe Foundation. “Part of our nonprofit’s service to the community is to help empower families so they can be prepared to make more confident decisions about their loved one’s future.”

This free event is open to the public, and no tickets are required. Light refreshments will be provided. Morning Pointe of Lexington-East is located at 150 Shoreside Drive. For more information, visit morningpointe.com/caregiver-cafe/.
