Dignitaries from the Danville area will join Morning Pointe Senior Living leaders on September 13, at 11:30 a.m., to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Morning Pointe of Danville Assisted Living.

The ceremony will take place next door at the property at 100 Birney Place in Danville. The build will be Phase II of the 40-acre senior living campus offering a continuum of care services.

The new single-level assisted living community will be 67,500 square feet and feature 72 apartments. Fifty-five of these apartments will be traditional assisted living apartments, while 17 will be suites with full kitchens, living rooms and bedrooms, as well as individual stackable washer/dryer combos in each unit.

Site work has already started, and the new community is anticipated to open in late 2024.

The current Morning Pointe of Danville offers both assisted living and memory care services. The new building will offer assisted living only. Both buildings will continue to offer 24-hour nursing care and serve many longtime Danville families.

The campus is located conveniently near Millennium Park, Centre College, the Boyle County School Campus, downtown Danville and Ephraim McDowell Trauma Hospital.

Programming at the new building will adhere to Morning Pointe’s strong focus on clinical care with physical and occupational therapies, life enrichment and wellness offerings and intergenerational activities. It will also feature Morning Pointe’s Farm to Table program with local, farm-fresh and seasonal ingredients.

“We are excited to be expanding in the community of Danville,” said Greg A. Vital, president of Morning Pointe Senior Living. “These larger apartments for our more independent seniors reflect the changing needs of the population, and we are proud to launch them right here in Danville.”

The new Morning Pointe of Danville will be the 39th Morning Pointe Senior Living community and the twelfth in Kentucky. Other Kentucky campuses are located in Lexington, Louisville, Frankfort, Richmond and Russell. The Morning Pointe of Danville campus will offer additional phases of senior living options, including patio homes.

Founded in 1996 by healthcare entrepreneurs Greg A. Vital and J. Franklin Farrow, Morning Pointe Senior Living operates assisted living and Alzheimer’s memory care communities in five southeastern states.

The new Morning Pointe of Danville will create approximately 65 permanent healthcare positions with a positive economic impact of more than $35 million annually, considering payroll, property taxes and local purchase of goods and services.
